Ivan Demidov is a successful 27-year-old professional from Moscow, Russia. He joins the onslaught of Russian talent that continues to make deep runs in some of the biggest events in poker.

In 2008, Ivan added  his name to the list of Russian players who have  been  very successful at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) which includes Alex Kravchenko (who placed 4th in the 2007 Main Event) and Nikolay Evadkov (who set the new record this year the with most cashes in a single WSOP at ten).

Part of the November Nine
The 2008 World Series of Poker proved very successful for Demidov. He finished in 11th place at the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Rebuy event taking home $39,854.

Ivan outlasted over 6,000 entrants in the 2008 Main Event to become part of the November Nine. He finished in 2nd place after a grueling heads-up battle and took home $5,809,595. 

Making History
Ivan made history in 2008 by becoming the only player to ever final table both the World Series of Poker Main Event and the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. The twenty-two hour final table of the World Series of Poker Europe made history as being the longest final table ever. Ivan came in 3rd place, getting just over $600,000 for his efforts.

His stellar performance in 2008 puts him on top of Russia's All-Time Money List. Demidov's talent and skill are sure to help bring Russian poker to the limelight in the years to come.
