Known to fans all over the world as "The Grinder," Michael Mizrachi continues to eliminate his competition and recording huge paydays along the way.
Coming from a family of poker players that includes his older brother Robert Mizrachi and his twin Eric, Mizrachi's overall performance has demonstrated that he is the star of the group, having earned over $6.7 in his career.
Breaking onto the poker scene in 2004, Mizrachi won his first major event at the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event in December. Mizrachi then started an enormous run in 2005 with a World Poker Tour (WPT) victory at the Commerce Casino's LA Poker Classic. He also made another WPT final table the same year and finished first in the $1,500 Head's-Up US No Limit Hold'em Championship at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Mizrachi wasn't done however as he went on to a record-tying seven money finishes at that year's World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Mizrachi continued his "grind" going into 2006, beginning the year with a second-place finish at the WPT Gold Strike World Poker Open and following that up later in the month with a first-place finish at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. These two tournaments placed Mizrachi on the top of Card Player Magazine's point standings for Player of the Year, a position he held throughout the entire year earning him the prestigious award for 2006.
