Cyndy Violette is one of the top female poker players in the world. Born in Queens, New York, Violette’s family relocated to Las Vegas, where she developed an affinity towards playing cards. Despite being pregnant with her daughter Shannon, Cyndy still managed to find the time to test out her abilities on the casino floor.

Violette then entered her first tournament in 1984 and slowly built her bankroll, ultimately deciding to become a professional poker player. Soon after, Cyndy scored a big win of $74,000 at a Golden Nugget Seven Card Stud poker tournament in 1988. Shortly after being highlighted in various publications – including an article in Playboy – Cyndy Violette was married for a second time and took a break from poker. Cyndy then returned in 1990 at a Caesars Palace poker tournament scoring another big win of $62,000 and made a full-time return to the game shortly after.

Since recording her early victories, this holistic-practicing poker star seems to have found a balance between being in the moment and having the fortitude to outlast her opponents. A World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet owner in the 2004 $2,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split event, Violette continues to roll over opponents in any event she enters.

This poker superstar has a knack for leaving a path of destruction along the way. Violette had a near victory and just missed winning a second bracelet in 2005, finishing second in the $2,000 No Limit event. She has cashed in 17 WSOP events and is seventh on the Women’s All Time Money List.
