Poker Royalty Opens European Office

Poker Royalty, a Las Vegas based poker player management company that represents many of the best players in the world, including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Patrik Antonius and Scotty Nguyen, announced today that it is opening its first international office in London, to help grow and manage its international client base. Brian Balsbaugh, who founded the company in 2003, said the new office will help support growth in Europe and Asia.

Heading up the London office will be Jim Erwood, who will assume the position of Director of European Operations for Poker Royalty. Prior to joining Poker Royalty, Erwood worked as a FIFA licensed soccer agent representing and marketing soccer stars and negotiating player contracts. Jim brings to Poker Royalty a European perspective on the poker industry and solid experience working on player sponsorship deals and commercial endorsements.

Brian Balsbaugh, CEO of Poker Royalty, said, “In the last few years, we have seen tremendous growth of poker events and projects in Europe, Asia and South America. While we believe Las Vegas will always be the center of the poker world, there is no denying that poker is a global game and the world’s best players now have international opportunities available to them. Having boots on the ground in Europe positions us to be able to capitalize on those opportunities and better serve our clients.”

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity,” Jim Erwood said. “Poker Royalty is committed to being a global company, and I hope to replicate in Europe what it has built in the United States.” Erwood’s role within Poker Royalty will be to grow the international player representation division and secure new business development opportunities for Poker Royalty’s existing clients in Europe through main-stream media, sponsorship, licensing, commercial endorsements and appearances.
