DOYLE BRUNSON
ABOUT DOYLE BRUNSON
Considered the Godfather of Poker, Doyle was a staple in poker for nearly six decades. He began his career as a member of a traveling poker team that played the biggest games in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Doyle eventually settled in Las Vegas where he became a staple of the World Series of Poker. After participating in the inaugural WSOP tournament, he participated nearly every year after that for 50 years. In that time span he won an astonishing 10 bracelets and was the second player to win the WSOP Main Event in back-to-back years, in 1976 and 1977.
Sadly the poker community lost Doyle in May 2023 but his legacy is remembered annually with Doyle Brunson Day falling on October 2nd.
